SawStop Blade and Brake

SawStop Blade and Brake

This was a carbide-tipped blade that (deliberately) contacted a surrogate finger (a sausage) during a cut.  It caused the brake to fire, driving the aluminium block hard into the blade, bringing it to a stop in phenomenally short amount of time.  As you can see, a lot of the energy from the blade is dissipated in significant distortion in the brake.
